the Lucey Level

Posted in Uncategorized on November 29, 2006 by chrisbaca

I think this is is pretty sweet. Scott Lucey’s leveling technique that I caught on my digi-cam at coffeefest while we were tearin’ it up at the ESI booth. Sort of a modified stockfleths, over/under move. The quality is low as it’s from a still picture camera and not a video camera but you get the idea. Baller.

We have so many coffees now!!! I need to increase my cupping schedule just to stay on top of everything. Also had the privalege of sampling some of Barefoot’s dry processed Yirgacheffe Adado today…Oh baby it’s saucey. The aromatics hit me in the face with the jackhammer intensisty of a Harar with a juicy flavor profile I love from Yigs to compliment the fine smell. I must say that this coffee was TOO fresh, but after Tony and I smelled it we couldn’t wait. I’m looking forward to having some tomorrow as well to get a better idea of this coffees full potential. Look for some tasting notes soon after. Peace.

press pot of Ethiopia Limu with Tony and Doug…

if anyone does read this thing and does not know by know: I am engaged! A special thanks to my fiance for putting up with my coffee adventures and us being 90 miles apart most of the week for the time being.

It’s all about the people: sit down and have a press pot with your friends (or your fiance).
